- Northnet offers nationally recognised training in a positive and relaxed environment.
Areas include:
- Business - Certificate II in Retail/Business Administration; Certificate III in Business Administration
- Hospitality - Certificate III in Hospitality
- Community Services - Certificate III in Home and Community Care; Certificate III in Disability Services;
Certificate III in Aged Care
- Information Technology - Certificate II in Information Technology
- Horticulture - Certificate II in Horticulture

- What other services does Northnet provide?
- Northnet also holds training programs on site at various community locations.
This training not only benefits the participants but also allows us to refurbish and enhance local buildings such as Kurri
Hospital and various community halls and garden areas.
Northnet also has a computer refurbishment program for providing cheap computers to
eligible recipients, eg - students (see our "Community Computers" page).

- Is Northnet training fully accredited?
- Yes. Northnet is registered with ASQA
(Australian Skills Quality Authority). All training is nationally recognised and Northnet must ensure that
all participants are trained and assessed to a national level.

- Can Northnet help me get a job?
- Northnet offers work experience to all participants so they can get hands on skills and
show their skills to potential employers.
We also have strong relationships with the Job Services Australia providers to assist the
participant in gaining employment after they have completed their training program.

- Does Northnet have government funded training?
- Some training programs are funded by the federal and state government. Northnet is on the NSW
Department of Education and Training Approved providers list to deliver funded training to eligible persons.

- What do I need to bring to class?
- All training text books are supplied. All you need to bring is a pen and paper and a willingness to learn.

- Do I have to wear any special clothing? Is there a dress code?
- Smart casual attire and covered safe footwear is recommended.

- Can I get food and drink at Northnet?
- Our premises at 9b Hall St., Cessnock are very centrally located.
Just a short walk from Northnet are many food outlets, clubs, pubs and coffee shops.

- Do I need computer skills to do Northnet courses?
- Basic computer skills would be beneficial but are not necessary. A basic computer training component is
included in all programs.

- Can I pay my training program off?
- Northnet welcomes people to pay their training program off. A non-refundable deposit of $200 is
required to secure your place, then our accounts department will work out a payment plan with you.
Training programs must be paid for before a completion certificate can be issued.
