Work Experience Programs
Northnet is the major provider of work experience, and training service programs in the Cessnock City LGA and Hunter Region.
As a community organisation, our prime mission focus is assisting disadvantaged youth, long term unemployed, and mature workers, into steady employment.
Individual assessment, personalised support, and targeted placements are key elements in Northnet's record of success in helping people.
Our employment program services staff are highly trained and possess a knowledge of the region's industry and services that greatly enhances the effectiveness of government assistance to individuals.
Currently we provide program services in Work-for the Dole, Work Experience Training, Greencorp, and Community Work Placement. Within these areas of service we are developing exciting new initiatives designed to overcome obstacles people face in gaining skills and achieving employment.
Partnerships with industry, local business, and community groups are highly valued by Northnet.

Tasks undertaken were...
- The cement rendered brick fence from 1932 was restored to its original standard:
- The concrete surface was water-blasted and then re-rendered where necessary.
- Missing or loose "pyramid" caps on posts were replace or refixed.
- The existing steel rail between posts was straightened and plates repaired where needed.
- The whole structure was repainted.
- Extremely overgrown shrubbery and vines along the fence were pruned extensively.
- Existing plants including oleanders, crepe-myrtles and roses were pruned and tended.
- Gardens and paths were mulched and bordered using materials obtained onsite during the clearing and tidying process. This included timber mulch, bush rock and timber logs. Some mulch was donated by Sweetmans Timber.
- The helipad area and some vegetation surrounding it were cleared to create a more safe landing zone.
- Further painting is planned. Materials were supplied by Kurri Kurri Hospital and Northnet Incorporated.
Northnet provides the ideal combination of professional training and customised support for all its clients.
